led-into-temptationThen Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. – Matthew 4:1 Led to be tempted? But Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Lead us not into temptation.” How could the Spirit lead Jesus to be tempted by the devil himself? Jesus knows what you are going through. He is intimately acquainted with temptation, rejection, suffering and pain. He knows physical pain, He knows emotional pain. He knows mental anguish. Hebrews 4:15 tells us that our High Priest, Jesus, is touched by our infirmities and has been tempted just like each of us. Jesus passed His test. He was sinless. Satan spoke to Jesus. He quoted scriptures to Jesus. He questioned Jesus’ identity and authority. He tried to make bargains with Jesus. But Jesus never succumbed. OH WORSHIP HIS NAME! Say it right now. “JESUS!” Because He was sinless, His sacrifice is acceptable to God. Because He created us, His sacrifice can atone for our sin. Because He arose, we can have life, authority, and power over the kingdom of darkness and—most importantly—we can live forever. Lord, lead us not into temptation, but thank you for your Son who defeated the devil at every turn. Praise you! Praise Him! Shout it from the Mountain tops – JESUS REIGNS! “It is written, ‘Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” – Matthew 4:4 – God is not silent. He still speaks.
