“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God.” – Luke 1:35 – Gabriel, speaking to Mary

Ok, here is a young virgin woman having a conversation with an angel. Not just any Angel but Gabriel. Can you imagine the next ladies’ Bible study?

BIBLE STUDY LEADER – “Any testimonies ladies?”

MARY – Yes, I had an encounter with the angel Gabriel, and he said I’d become pregnant by the Holy Spirit, and then He said, “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

CROWD – “Well I’ve Never…. Who does Mary think she is? I’ve never had an angel speak to me and I’ve walked with God all my life. She must have gotten involved with one of the wrong crowd or with that Joseph fellow, and now she’s trying to cover it up with an outlandish made up story.”

Sometimes we have to be selective in where and to whom we tell about our encounters with God. Not everyone is ready to believe or to hear us when we testify about what God says and does in us, for us, or to us. Sometimes we must live out what God says and trust that after time people will know that we heard God, encountered Him. At the proper time, the story may even be published.
