“I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.” – Luke 10:21

The 72 whom Jesus had sent out came back praising God because demons submitted to them in Jesus’ name, and they had healed the sick and preached the Kingdom of God. This made Jesus rejoice greatly and praise the Father. It thrilled Jesus’ heart to see these followers doing the things that His Father had sent Him to do.

These 72 are referred to as “Others” in verse 1 and as “Little Children.” Jesus makes reference to the fact that they were not the “wise and intelligent.” Is there anything flattering in the references Jesus made to these people? Were they actually little children or was Jesus’ meaning that they were spiritual children?

These “Other,” “Little Children,” who weren’t the “wise and intelligent” were able to do the things that Jesus did. They healed the sick, cast out demons, and preached the Kingdom of God.

Call me whatever you want, just let me live and do and be one who does what Jesus did.
