The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children. And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ) – Romans 8:15

If you are normal, you have at times wondered, “Am I saved?” or, “Does God love me?”

When I teach someone to listen to God’s voice I often tell them to ask God a question: “How do you feel about me?” Then write down what comes to their mind. People often write something very personal and intimate in first person, from God. But then they doubt that it IS God. They think they just made it up.

I often ask them, is that what you would have written on your own? And they say, “No way. I thought God was angry with me!” So I ask them, “Then who put those thoughts in your mind? Did I suggest anything?”

“Then where did that come from? The devil?”

“God’s Spirit is speaking to you.”

As we learn to hear the Spirit of God He often begins with something like, “Oh, my son,” or some other term of endearment. I still sometimes recoil inside, believing that I don’t deserve such love and affection from Him.

When God’s Spirit speaks to our spirit and tells us of His love, and that we are sons and daughters of the King of Kings and that we are joint heirs with Jesus—it just doesn’t get any better than that!
