“Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.” – John 6:68
This was one of Peter’s Sane Moments. Sometimes when God speaks, it is hard for us to hear, understand or accept. Jesus had just spoken about drinking His blood, and the multitudes who had been following him rejected His words without understanding His Word—and they left. The words that Jesus had just spoken were so hard for people to accept, so they had turned away. All but a handful of people.
Jesus had asked them, “Do you also want to go away?” and this was Peter’s reply. “You have the words of eternal life.”
As you learn to hear God’s voice, He will tell you hard things. He might ask you to lay down something that is dear to you. He might ask me to do something that is challenging. Sometimes you will ask questions to clarify His meaning, and He won’t answer your questions. He wants to know if you will trust Him – If you will follow Him no matter what.
These testings come in the lives of true disciples. These are the times and tests from which most turn back and walk away. Some will have SANE MOMENTS, and know that no matter what the Lord asks of you, there is only one SANE ANSWER – “to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
