But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, just as he said. Come and see the place where he was lying. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. – Matthew 28:5-7

DO NOT BE AFRAID = Don’t be afraid of seeing an angel? For some reason they often say this. I’ve only seen angels in visions which is very biblical. That for me was different enough. I cannot imagine turning a corner and looking one of these heavenly beings in the face. Maybe their fear was because of seeing the empty tomb, or maybe it was because of the fact that Jesus had been crucified.

HE IS NOT HERE, FOR HE HAS BEEN RAISED – Obvious question, the tomb is open, the stone has been rolled away. Where is Jesus?

GO QUICKLY AND TELL – The challenge remains today. This story needs to be told, over and over and over again. Tell the world. Jesus is not in the tomb!

HE HAS BEEN RAISED FROM THE DEAD – Resurrection power is in Jesus. He defeated death, Hell and the grave. Satan has been vanquished. Jesus is alive.

Live in the light of the Angel’s commands today, and every day.
