“Whether it is right before God to obey you rather than God, you decide, for it is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.” – Acts 4:19-20
Have you ever experienced something that you could not stop talking about?
Peter and John have been jailed, threatened and beaten. They were serving God, and they got in trouble for it. We are taught by these same men to honor those in spiritual authority. But here they were faced with a question, “Do I obey God or man?” Tell me what is right?
Even if you tell us we should obey you rather than God, we can’t stop talking about what we’ve seen and heard. These men had seen Jesus. They had seen the miracles. They had done miracles themselves, by the power of God.
When I speak I tell lots of testimonies of people being healed. In Revelation 12 it says, “…they overcame the devil by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.”
We need to hear more. We need to hear about a God who is alive and well, and who is still active today.
