Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John and led them alone up a high mountain privately. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became radiantly white, more so than any launderer in the world could bleach them. Then Elijah appeared before them along with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. – Mark 9:2-4
How do you tell your friends if something like this happens? Who would believe you? Yet, it ended up in the Bible. It is part of history. For a long time Peter, James and John kept silent about their divine encounter. Did they tell their wives or their best friends? Did they talk to each other?
If you should have a special, supernatural encounter with God today, would your friends believe you? What would you think? I just saw a comment in reference to a video about Nathanael, my son, who rose from the dead. The person wrote how vehemently angry it makes him for someone to write such blasphemy, and I quote, “Death is irreversible.”
I’ve seen a myriad of miracles and had many amazing encounters with God. From personal experience, I warn you, don’t be surprised if people oppose you. Sometimes keeping things to yourself, until the right time and the right place is the wisdom of God. (see the Lord’s comment in Matthew 7:6)
Anyone out there who’s had an indescribable encounter with God? Something your friends just wouldn’t understand?
