“I do nothing on my own initiative, but I speak just what the Father taught me. And the one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do those things that please him.” John 8:28-29
Jesus had an intimate relationship with the Father. This is the foundation of everything that He taught and did. We can have a much more personal walk with God than most of us have ever dreamed.
Jesus would be with His Father every day. He’d listen to the Father’s voice and wait, in every detail of His life, for direction from His Father. The essence of intimacy with the Father is hearing His voice, and doing what He tells you.
Jesus knew that the Father was with Him. He said, “He has not left me alone.” We need to know that Father God is always ready to commune with us. He communes with us through the person of the Holy Spirit. He will answer our questions. He speaks to us. We need to learn how to hear His voice.
