“Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed.” – Matthew 8:8 “Just say the word.” What Faith! This Centurion came to Jesus on behalf of his servant who was suffering greatly. All He wanted was the Word from Jesus that would heal his servant. He showed great humility and an amazing understanding of Jesus’ authority. Believers today need to understand their authority. Too often we fear what the devil or his minions can do to us. We are afraid to enter the fray of spiritual warfare, and we are afraid to pray in faith for those who are sick. We are afraid to get our hopes up, or the hopes of someone whom the doctors say is terminal. We pray wimpy prayers that have no biblical foundation, like “If it is your will.” Instead of such wimpy prayers, we should pray, “Lord, fill us with faith to have the boldness and understanding of our authority as sons of the King and Disciples of Christ to speak a word and know that it will be done.”
