“There was also a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old, having been married to her husband for seven years until his death. She had lived as a widow since then for eighty-four years. She never left the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. – Luke 2:36-38 – What a prayer life!
God bless the women who sit in the presence of God and seek His face. This prophetess was a widow who never left the temple. She spent her time worshipping, fasting and praying night and day. You know that this woman was worth listening to. She had a depth and a richness that is rare.
I am also thinking of the women I know who are housewives, mothers and businesswomen. But first and foremost they are women of God, who have learned how to abide in His presence. I know women who worship and pray while they are cooking and cleaning. They rise up early to be with the Father because they know that they couldn’t make it through the day without Him.
I’m thinking of the women who hear the Lord’s voice, know the heart of God—but no one acknowledges their anointing, wisdom or dedication.
Here’s to the Prophetesses in our day, many of whom are unnoticed, not recognized, never acknowledged—but you know who you are. GOD’S BLESSINGS ON EACH OF YOU!
