“I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you.” – Luke 1:19
Gabriel gets to stand in the presence of God. In this passage Zechariah doubted the words of one who stands in the presence of God. Imagine the privilege Gabriel has. All the time, every day, to be in the presence of God.
No wonder angels often seem to be glowing when they appear! The light of the glory of God is all over them, just like it was on Moses when He came off the mountain of God. They had to put a veil over Moses’ face.
Lord, I want to stand in your presence as Moses did, as Gabriel does. John on the Isle of Patmos, in Revelation, was able to stand in the presence of the resurrected and glorified son of God. He was even taken up into heaven to see. Lord. I want to be in your Spirit like John was and to see things in the heavenlies. I will wait on You. Take me to where You are.
“The angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, a descendant of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. The angel came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one, the Lord is with you!” – Luke 1:26-28
The angel came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one, the Lord is with you!” – Luke 1:28
“Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God!” – Luke 1:30 – Gabriel to Mary
