Now Jesus performed many other miraculous signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. – John 20:30-31
The Bible is the record of a God who speaks – of a God who does miracles. He spoke to pagans, fish, men, women, saints and sinners alike. He spoke directly, and He spoke through visions, dreams, angels, donkeys, signs, wonders and miracles galore.
And think about it. All of the miracles that God did are not even written for us. John says so of Jesus’s life. Do we have every prophecy ever given written down? Think about it. Elijah had a school for prophets. Do you know any of their prophecies? Do we have everything God spoke to Abraham, Noah, Moses, and David?
Are all the miracles that happened in Elijah’s life or Moses’ life written for us?
I could not write all the miracles that happen in my life. I write everyday what God speaks to me. I only share a fraction with others.
Over 35% of the Bible is about something supernatural taking place! And we don’t even have all of it written for us. Do you think we have 99% of what God did written in the Bible, and they just left out a few miracles? Based on what John wrote, I think we have only a fraction of what God did. We have enough, though, to know that God speaks, God works wonders, and God loves. He hasn’t changed.
