Now there was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias,” and he replied, “Here I am, Lord” – Acts 9:10

Ananias knew how to hear God’s voice, and he wasn’t one of the twelve apostles. But God used him to heal Paul, who would become an apostle.

Imagine though, that you are learning to hear God’s voice, and He tells you to go to the person who is killing Christians. I would imagine you might want some confirmation of this instruction! I can imagine thinking, “Is this God, or is it the devil?” Imagine if Ananias had asked fellow believers for counsel. Sometimes when God speaks to us, no one will agree. What then?

HERE I AM LORD. Ananias started with this declaration, even before he knew what God wanted. When you know the voice of the Lord and you obey it, it gets easier. God will tell you things that seem crazy, but when you obey, you see Him do amazing things through you.
